Die Swatch Gent GR700E stammt aus dem ersten Jahr in dem Swatch überhaupt verkauft wurde: 1983. Im Gegensatz zu der normalen GR700 besitzt diese Version einen roten Sekunden Zeiger, römische Ziffern und eine Wochentagsanzeige in englischer Schrift. Zu dieser Zeit hatten die Uhren noch keine Namen und trugen nur die Refrenz Nummern. Dieses Model besitzt noch das 7 Loch Armband, welches ebenfalls nur an den allerersten Modellen zu finden ist. Die Uhr ist wasserdicht, hat eine Datumsanzeige und ganggenaues Quarzuhrwerk.
