SWEETHEART BIRD - Chinese Valentine's Special 2021

The Swatch Gent Special SWEETHEART BIRD is the Chinese Valentine's Special from 2021, released on the occasion of the Chinese Qixi Festival. This festival is comparable to our Valentine's Day; traditionally, young women prayed for good fortune, wealth, and longevity, but today lovers exchange gifts. It is celebrated according to the Chinese lunar calendar on the evening of the 7th day of the 7th month; in 2021, it was August 14th. Two specials were created for this occasion, one for the lady of the heart and one for the man, in keeping with the legend of Niulang and Zhinu. The watch's pink case is made of two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-based plastic, making it 300% more robust than plastic. The material has a smooth, velvety-silky feel. Birds are visible on the matching silicone strap. The lower half of the silver dial is printed with round shapes reminiscent of a mountain landscape. A precise, battery-powered quartz movement is installed in the waterproof watch.
