ALLEGORIA DELLA PRIMAVERA BY BOTTICELLI

In cooperation with the Galleria degli Uffizi (Uffizi Gallery) in Florence, two watch artworks were created. The Swatch New Gent NASCITA DI VENERE BY BOTTICELLI features details from the painting of the same name by the most important Italian painter and draftsman of the early Renaissance. Sandro Botticelli painted devotional images, altarpieces, as well as pictures from the themes of Greek mythology and allegories with contemporary relevance. "Primavera" (Spring) shows nine figures (Zephyrus, Chloris, Venus, Flora, Mercury, Cupid, and three Graces) from classical mythology moving across a blooming lawn with orange and laurel trees. Although the meaning of the painting is not clear, it appears to be a celebration of love, peace, and prosperity. The orange trees are printed on the upper silicone strap half. These, along with a part of the laurel, are visible on the dial, which is framed by the pink-transparent plastic case. The lower strap half shows the goddess of blossoms Flora in a floral dress. Inside the waterproof and artistic watch is a precise quartz movement with a battery. The special edition is packaged in a matching cardboard box, with information about the painting printed on the back.
