CANTON EXPO 2002 BOOK
The Swatch CANTON EXPO 2002 BOOK is a very rare special edition containing four watches. With each turn of a page in the large, thick book, you encounter one of the four watches and its story. The occasion was the 6th Swiss National Exhibition, held from May 15 to October 20, 2002. The watches were sold individually there, and with a bit of luck, you could also acquire the limited edition book. It is limited to 2002 copies and was only sold in Switzerland.
The exhibition consisted of five exhibition grounds called "Arteplages" – a word invented specifically for this Expo. It took place on the lakeside shores of the cities of Biel, Murten, Neuchâtel, and Yverdon-les-Bains. Therefore, Swatch released four different colored specials. Each watch features "27 Canton Swatch" and symbols or coats of arms of the 26 Swiss cantons. On the green background of the plastic strap, these are the cantons of Zug, Zurich, Ticino, Lucerne, Thurgau, St. Gallen, Neuchâtel, and Vaud. These 4 extraordinary watches are waterproof and have an accurate quartz movement with a battery, which is built into their transparent plastic cases.
