The Citizen Men's Automatic Watch NJ0157-81L is an exceptional special edition born from the creative collaboration between Citizen and the French design studio seconde/seconde/ – a fascinating fusion of watchmaking artistry and modern conceptual art. At its heart is the minute hand, reinterpreted by artist Romaric André, designed as a stylized katana in a pixel-art style reminiscent of Japanese retro video games, symbolically representing power and strength. Visually, it appears as if the sharp blade has split the hour markers – a playful yet powerful effect with high recognition value.
The intensely blue dial with a date display at 3 o'clock harmonizes perfectly with the silver-colored stainless steel case and the brushed link bracelet with polished accents, whose clasp is artfully adorned with implied sword cuts. The case back features the artist's characteristic inscription: "Being smaller has never stopped Minutes from slicing Hours into pieces." – a poetic homage to the power of time. Inside, the proven mechanical automatic caliber 8210-CB0 operates with approximately 42 hours of power reserve, protected up to 5 bar water resistance.

I was especially pleased that the watch was from Citizen It was not delivered in the usual black box, but with the yellow diving cylinder.
