In Atlanta (USA) in 1996, Swatch became the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games for the first time. There were a total of 618 events where medals were awarded. For this occasion, Swatch produced 618 watches each in the three precious metals: gold, silver, and bronze. The first 140 pieces were available in sets of three, containing all three watches. 478 pieces were sold individually. Like the Olympic medal, this Irony Big OLYMPIA GOLD is very rare, as there are just as many of each. The sporty watch itself comes in a high-quality and elaborately crafted leather box. The dial features the logo of the 1996 Games. The matte case is made entirely of real GOLD (750/999), and a noble, reddish-brown leather strap adorns this limited edition Swatch.
